The journey...

A friend posted the song "Gravity" by Sarah Bareilles on my FB page today. It was a song that clearly depicted my life and the situation I was in at one point in time. With the opening chords of the song, I'm "forced" to stop, turn back and ponder at my journey thus far.

After more than 23 years walking down this road, I think I'm slowly getting a hang of things. I'm not saying I'm perfect and I've learnt everything I need to learn. No, I'm not. What I'm saying is that I'm slowly starting to feel comfortable with who I am and to love the life that God has carved out for me. My journey might not be as tragic as others’ but that doesn’t discount the fact that I have had a crazy, bumpy ride. But God has led me through many storms, guiding my every step and carrying me when I could walk no more. Now looking back, I see it so clearly and I thank Him for every hardship that I had to go through.

The sound of the strings fading out marks the end of the song, and I'm brought back to where I am today. Slowly, I take a deep breath, look around and soak it all in. My path is still the same but my surroundings are not like what they used to be. I’m a different person, at a different point in life, in a different country and with different people. But the storms are still there – finding a good home and car; trusting God with finances; how I struggled to fit in and find good friends; constantly reminding myself to surrender my future into God’s hands; and now believing for healing and a miracle in Mom’s life.

I take a deep breath once more, but this time with my eyes closed. I feel Him… I feel His strong arms surrounding me. I feel safe, secure and at ease. My Father is still with me and never once has He left my side. I take a moment to draw strength from Him because I know I’m going to need it. With a final squeeze, I pull away from my Father’s embrace. He holds out His hand and I take it. As I look ahead, I see the storm approaching.

I feel my Father’s grip on my hand tighten and I know it’s time to resume my journey. But at the same time, I feel gravity holding my feet down. What do I do? What should I do? The answer is as clear as day. I cling on to the Master’s hand, gather up all the strength that I have within me… and take the first step forward. And with that very step rooted in faith and determination, I know with all my heart, no matter how hard the winds blow… I will continue walking forward!

This week has been crazy much! Suddenly realized that there’s so much to do before I leave. It’s 2am, Sunday and I’m leaving on Monday at 1.40pm. In the middle of packing and I don’t know what to pack and what not to pack! Hahaha… =)

Finally feeling a bit more excited about this trip. Before this, I had too many things to do and to think about. One thing that I’m really looking forward to in this trip is getting to spend some time with God. He always feels much closer when I’m away from home. And this time I’ll be away for 7 weeks. So yea, am excited about that. It has been awhile since we’ve had time away from the norm and I really hope that we will have an awesome time together!

Nothing much has changed from my last post. Things are just as uncertain as they were before. Some doors have closed, which eliminates some of my worries. So that’s good. Right now, I’m travelling the road which I’ve chosen and I’m still waiting to see where it will lead me to. Waiting to discover my destination is rather scary, but I’m trying my very best to enjoy the journey and to grow as much as I can.

I think it’s safe to say that I love where I am right now. I feel more alive than I’ve been in the past 5 years! And my aim in the next 5 years: to remain in the center of God’s will. Coz I know that is the safest place to be in.

So many things have been happening that I don’t even know where to start. One moment I’m dreading uni life and the next, I’ve already completed my degree! Now I’m working as music teacher and part-time clerk/receptionist at Klavier Music Centre.

Things have changed so much in my life. I’m happy now. Not that I wasn’t before. But somehow, I’m happy with the way things are right now. Sure, I miss uni, my lecturers and my friends. I miss the freedom I had being away from home! =P But all in all, I love the way things are right now. Being comfortable in my own skin, feeling more confident of myself, loving my job and the people I work with… I am happy!

But just as I’m beginning to get used to the current routine, it’s all gonna change in a week’s time! I’ll be 23, jobless, and on a long holiday in Melbourne! Ahhhh… the emotions and thoughts that are running thru my whole system, they’re just so confusing. I’m gonna miss teaching so much. I love love love love love teaching. My students are smart, bright and so adorable! It has been an honour for me to be able to start off their musical journey with them. My only regret is that I won’t be able to be there with them, to guide them, to learn from them and to watch them grow.

If given a choice, I think I would prefer to let things remain the way they are right now. If you know me, you would know that I don’t like change very much. Plus, there are too many uncertainties involving my future. Too much to explain here, I guess. I know I should trust that God will take care of things. I know He will take care of me! But still, at times it feels like a bus comin towards you at full speed and there’s nothing u can do about it but stare >.<

I guess there is too much to say in just one post. Where I am right now kinda reminds me of the poem by Robert Frost.

Yesterday Mom, Dad, Kor and I went to visit Uncle Lee Hood Tuan who has cancer n is bed-ridden. We have been plannin to visit him as a family for sometime, but other things came up and we never got to actually go...till yesterday.

I was really looking forward to go as I have not seen Uncle Lee for quite sometime, especially since he was bed-ridden. He wasn't as thin and as weak as I thought he would be. And he told us that he was actually feeling more tired than usual. So that's good.

We sang a couple of songs and daddy read a portion of scripture. Sang Amazing Grace - uncle's favourite song =/ Had Holy Communion. I sang No Greater Love. Even though my voice sucked (it's damaged! =( sighhhh.. ) I sang with all I had wanting to bless uncle as much as I could... but in the end, I was the one being blessed and encouraged instead...

Uncle was so positive the whole time. Never once did he complain. Even when he was telling us about how painful it would be when Aunty Lee bathes and cleans him up, there was never a hint of bitterness or malice in his voice. and I love to hear him call aunty... he calls her "Mamma"... hehe... =) so sweet eh? >.<

Seeing uncle face death and his remaining days here on earth filled with pain, makes me realize how small and petty my problems are. What are mine compared to his? They're nothing! And yet, uncle is filled with more joy and hope. To me, it's like whatever ady lar.. but for uncle, there is perseverance and determination. Blows my mind...

I recall uncle thanking us again and again for coming to see him. But in actual fact, it was an honour for me to be able to know such a wonderful man who lived life to the fullest and now is just eager to meet his Creator and Master... Thank you Uncle Lee...

ahhhhhh........... Today Rain, Yvonne and I went shopping at Sg. Wang and Times Square. hahaha... and I ended up buying quite a lot of baju... aiyo aiyo... hahaha...

well, in the 1st place, we weren't even suppose to be in KL today. Rain and Yvonne already planned to come down to Seremban today and spend the night there. THEN... the School of Music just had to arrange for a Masterclass tomorrow. So, we had to cancel our Seremban trip and instead, we went to Sg. Wang! haha...

had lunch, walked around, bought stuff... watched Angels & Demons... walked again... had dinner, the walked more.... bought even more... hahaha... =D

oh well... my money was well spent, i think......... =D haha... mommy's gonna kill me.... eeeeeeeeeekkkzzzzzzz...... hahaha! =P

but in the end, we had a good time together. hehe, throughout the day, when we wanted to do something out of the ordinary, we would remind ourselves that this is our last sem living together... so we gotta do it! hehehe... awww... gonna miss my housies so muchhh... =(

back to school again and i'm now in Sem 8! haha... time really flies...!

trying to savour each moment i have left here in uni. hmmm... mixed feelings. I really can't wait to graduate and go back to Seremban. Feels like there are just so many things to do and I can't wait to continue the journey that God has planned out for me. It has been 3+ years since that has been on hold. and now I'm psyched about getting back. hmmm... but at the same time, I'm so gonna miss my friends here especially my housemates =( and to top it all off............. I'm might be going to Australia next year......which leads to another problem....

hehe... it's like, I've been waiting so long to come back to Seremban, and now I need to leave again? and this time, I can't even come home for weekends! =S hahaha... so now do u feel me..? =P so so so so so confused!

oh well, i guess timing's perfect right? we're gonna have this 10 days fast together with the Assemblies of God Malaysia called Ablaze... which starts tomorrow! it's gonna be held from the 21st-30th of May. and we, the Aspirers, are goin on a Daniel fast! which means, we only eat veges for the next 10 days... and we PRAY! =D join us!!!

Futurism

hehe updates on what happened this week....

compared to last week, it has been a rather relaxing week. coz I've completed my mock teaching, Advanced Musicology (AMus) Project I as well as my recital... so the beginning of this week was FUN! not needing to do anything! haha... well, it was short lived! by tuesday, I found out I was assigned to Dr. Jeff's class for AMus Project II. and his topic was Modernism and Futurism! arghhh... Futurism is a crazy era where ppl were pro war, technology, destruction of museums and libraries and stuff like that lar! In class that day, he gave us a whole stack of articles and told us we better start reading them that afternoon itself. hahaha... i tried reading but it was tooooo deep man! haha... literally had to sit infront of the computer to check the dictionary like so many times!

Yesterday (Wednesday) I went for my first MPO concert ever. hahahaha... paiseh paiseh!!! aiyo... =P went with Rain and Yvonne. Alice, Zhi Wen and Lisa were performing! When we reached there, we saw that Johan, Melissa (i think that's her name!), Karen, Winston and Teressa there as well. Overall, it was fun! There was this performance where this dude came n play using 2 spoons and a teacup! hehe... super cute. he so reminds me of Johan la! hehehe...

After the concert, Yvonne went back home. So Rain and i went for dinner in Nando's and happened to end up at the same place wid Alice and the gang. So we joined them for dinner and i had a pleasant time with them! =)

Today, I can't go home coz tmr's there's Masterclass. Adil and his band will b performing the masterclass. so, it's not too bad lar.... but really wanted to go home early this week! so yea, today i'm like free the whole day!!! no classes at all... supposed to b reading my articles on Futurism but i'm procrastinating! hahaha...

am really looking forward to this weekend! =)

hehe... I'm really in a blogging mood these couple of weeks! well, basically just trying to keep the momentum going... after people say that my blog is DEAD again! hahaha... but here I am, back after so long and they're not even here to comment!!! **you guys noe who u are! haha...**

Anyways... back to my story.......

Yesterday was Tiffany's 21st birthday! So Siaw Jiun, Joelin, Rain and I went to meet up wid Tiff and Raechen in Midvalley after class. We went walking around looking for a pressie for Tiff but had no idea what to buy! Suddenly, Raech called and said that there was this Baby Pluto soft toy that Tiff really liked in Toys R Us but Raech managed to persuade her not to buy it... so instead, WE bought it for her! hahaha... n we also bought her a soft toy rose from there (which u will see in the pics below!)

Tiff loved the rose... and she said that it was the 1st rose she has ever received! hehehe... I'm really glad u liked the pressies my dear! HAPPY 21ST!!!! =)

Raech left before dinner coz she said she needed to practice! hehe funny lar she... Here we were, ALL music students... and we were out having fun! But she was the only one whose conscience was strong enough to get her to practice! hahaha...

Oh well... it was a tiring day! So stressful coz apart from Tiff's pressie, I had to go searching for 2 other pressents... and they're both for guys! aih... hate buying presents for guys! Never know what to get them! hehehe...

I made an impromptu visit to Midvalley this evening! hehe... my friends were telling me abt the J-Card member sales and that it was HUGE!!!! But today was the final day!!! so I quickly called sarah and asked her whether she's free tonite to meet up at Midvalley. And she said yes! haha... so after class at 5, i took a cab then the KTM to Midvalley. while waiting for the train to arrive, I met Miss Daisy (my psychology lecturer) and her hubby. After talking to her for awhile, I found out that she was going to Midvalley for the Jusco sales as well! hahhaa...

I wasn't prepared for what I was about to see in Jusco. It was PACKED!!!! so many people were there. It felt like I was at the pasar malam! There were sales attendees who were holding loudspeakers and shouting stuff like "Mari, mari, mari... happy hour! extra 10% off... 5 more minutes, 5 more minutes!" goodnessssss.... it was crazy! I walked a bit, didn't really feel like looking at stuff coz there was just too many people around. Finally saw a pair of shoes I really like and bought it!

But I didn't. maybe I'll go back to Seremban and get it.... tee-hee-hee!

Before dinner, Sarah and I headed to Sasa to get my eyeliner, which I thought wasn't available in the Malaysian market. But I found it! Yay! It's by PUPA and it's a bit pricy... BUT... it's re-aaaaa-lly good coz it doesn't smudge even if I have it on the whole day! =)

So after getting all my stuff, we headed to The Gardens and had dinner at this place called Cova. Had this fish dish with mashies! Yummy!!! after that Edmund came along and joined us. sat down and talked till almost 12am. then Sarah sent me home.... =)

I'm really glad I had this impromptu thing this evening. Really glad to be able to meet up wid Sarah... haven't seen her in such a long time. When we were talking just now, we realised that we didn't even see each other the whole of last year! how is that possible...? hehe... anyways... thanks Sarah for an AWESOME evening... love u lots! =)

LONDON - He's 13. He scarcely looks 10. And according to a British tabloid, he's a father.

Baby-faced and only 4 feet tall, the boy, Alfie Patten, was just 12 when he impregnated Chantelle, now 15, The Sun reported Friday. Shown in a video posted Friday on the tabloid's Web site, the diminutive Alfie takes the newborn girl in his arms.

Asked what he would do to support the child financially, Alfie asks in a small, high-pitched voice, "What's financially?"

The girl was taking birth control pills but missed one, the newspaper reported. Friends and relatives left the family home near Eastbourne, about 70 miles southeast of London, Friday without speaking to reporters gathered outside. The teenagers could not immediately be contacted.

The Sun did not say whether any tests were conducted to prove the boy's paternity. The paper did not offer any immediate comment when asked whether it had paid the family for the story.

Police and child services in Eastbourne, in southeast England, said in a statement that they were "aware of a 14-year-old girl that had become pregnant as the result of a relationship with a 12-year-old boy," adding that they were offering support to both young people.

Alfie's front page picture has sparked renewed debate about teen pregnancy in Britain. The country has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in Europe, and government figures show that about 39,000 girls under age 18 became pregnant in 2006. More than 7,000 of those girls were younger than 16.

in the midst of exams rite now... tmr's the last one! PIANO JURY! arghhh...

oh! UCSI is now a university! it's no more University College International Sedaya. but since we're already known as UCSI, they're sticking to that. so now we're called UCSI University! haha... they're trying to come up with something else which represents the UCSI.... =P

well, according to our beloved lecturer Dr. Jeff, this is called a doo-dah...!!! when asked why it is called so, he says it's becoz he doesn't know what it's called so he just calls is doo-dah! *faint*

horrific crash in cheras... death in Seremban...

for rain, yvonne n i, yesterday started off like any other day. we woke up and were preparing for Masterclass at 10. at around 9.30 i was in my room gettin ready, rain was in hers and yvonne was bathing. suddenly there was a commotion in rain's room. i rushed out to see what happened. she asked me to look out her room to the main road. there was an accident! she said she heard a loud bang!

cars started to pile up and there were lots of people standing at the sidewalk looking to see what happened. we knew that it was a really bad accident but couldn't really see much as Giant was blockin most of our view. abt 10 mins later the ambulance arrived. we cudn't see much after that as we had to go to school.

after masterclass at around 12.20pm, we caught a cab to go to the train station. traffic was still heavy. we could see a squashed lorry and car. but we didn't know what happened. today, since dad's in US, we don't have newspaper! hehe... so i decided to go to The Star Online. and it wasn't hard to find the article on this accident. it was right at the top of the main page. and this is what is says:

DSP Ng said that the lorry, carrying boulders, was turning into the Kajang-Cheras Highway from the Middle Ring Road 2, when Kang was believed to have lost control of the vehicle before smashing into a motorcycle, three cars, a van and an MPV.

Mohd Nuh was riding his motorcycle to work with the General Operation Force unit in Cheras when the lorry hit him before jumping the divider and crashing into oncoming vehicles on the highway.

The father of three, who had spent many years in the force putting his life at risk defusing bombs mainly during training exercises, died on the spot.

Eyewitnesses described the scene of the accident as “horrific.”

“I saw the lorry coming down quite fast without the signal light on as I overtook it on my motorcycle. Seconds later, I heard a loud crash.

“To my horror, as I turned around to look, I saw the lorry smashing into several vehicles,” said Naresh Kumar, 28, an engineer.

He said he immediately called the police. Others at the scene claimed at least three other vehicles were damaged.

Kamarul Aizan, 33, whose Perodua Kancil was among the vehicles damaged in the accident, said he was just “seconds away from death”.

“I was heading towards Bandar Tasik Selatan when suddenly the lorry came out of nowhere in front of me and ploughed into a Kelisa. I might have been about three seconds behind the car.

“My car suffered some damage but thankfully I escaped unharmed,” he said.

The accident caused a massive traffic jam that lasted almost three hours as police and Fire Department officials cleared debris from the road and motorists slowed down to look at the accident.

The bodies of Mohd Nuh and Kang were taken to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for autopsy.

Popular deejay’s son found drowned

SEREMBAN: The son of a popular NegeriFM deejay was found drowned at an abandoned project site next to Seremban Square near here on Thursday night.

Mohd Khalil Kamaruddin, 21, was believed to have fallen into a pool at the project site. His body was recovered by Fire and Rescue Department personnel at 10.45pm, about two hours after he had fallen in.

Mohd Khalil is the son of deejay Kamaruddin Kassim, better known as Papa Din.

District police chief Asst Comm Saiful Azly Kamaruddin said preliminary investigations showed there was no foul play.

Mohd Khalil’s friend Mohd Solihin Zakaria, 24, said he last saw the victim at about 8pm.

“He came to my cabin near the square at about 4pm and slept for more than two hours.

“A short while later, he told me that he felt like going to Port Dickson for a swim. I told him that I did not feel like going.

“He then left his wallet and mobile phone in the cabin and went away,” he said.

Mohd Solihin said that when he heard Mohd Khalil had jumped into the pool, he followed suit but could not find him.

“I came back up and asked several workers to help me but they too could not find him.”

if you read the 2nd paragraph, it says that he fell "into a pool at the project site." but in actual fact, it's not even a pool!!! it is an abandoned shopping mall project! they dug up the ground to build an underground parking area, and during the economy downturn, the project was abandoned. as years went by, this underground parking area began to "takung" water and now they officially call it a pool!!! what is this lar.... shudn't something be done about this?? how can they just leave it for years like that... i heard they're even rearing fish in there.... ??? and the new Dataran Seremban is next to that so-called-pool!

gosh, why is the government wasting money building a dataran seremban in the middle of nowhere??? cudn't they use the money to cover up that "pool"???

RAMBUTAN PICKING!!!

after church on sunday, a few of us were bored so we decided to go to the Louis' to play pictionary and pluck rambutans... larry said they had lots and this time there weren't any monkeys stealing those rambutans. haha...

i picked Joel and Joycelyn from their aunt's then we headed to the Louis'! reached there only to find kinfei there sitting alone among the sisters. hahha, i thought everyone was gonna be there. but oh well, i like small goups! a breath of fresh air from the normal chaos...

so we started playing pictio and i was with kinfei and larry. hahaha, quite funny coz kinfei was like super blur!!! and he's reaaaaaaallllyyyyyy slow!!! hehhee sorrie fei! u are.... =P but it's okie, coz we WON!!! =D

after the game, we headed out into the garden and there were LOADS of rambutans! everywhere.... really red onesss.... there were yellow ones too. but i prefer red! we started plucking n collecting them into a bag. it was so much fun!

well, here's my way. no doubt, it's way slower. but so much nicer to eat! coz u don't get the skin (the woody layer) of the seed stuck to the flesh of the fruit. yummy!!! =D

at the end of the eating session, crazy larry and fiona decided to see who could put more rambutans in their mouth **faint** after that, they raced to finish eatin all the rambutans that they squeezed into their mouth. trust me, the result was DISGUSTING!!! hahha... but it was fun! let's do this again this coming sunday! hahah... =D

Well, for those of you who didn’t know, I had dengue…. AGAIN!!! Been trying to blog on this but internet connection has been super crappy these few days. Hehe… anyway, this is what happened:

Thurs 12/6

Was feeling really tired. Eyes were really dry while watching tv.

Suddenly realized one side of my right eye was red! Took our contacts and went to bed

Fri 13/6

Woke up feeling really horrible with back aches and headache.

Forced myself to go for Masterclass. It was a violin masterclass. Boring.

Everyone was sleeping. But I couldn’t coz my back hurt too much

By the end of the class I was feverish and really uncomfortable.

Took a train home and went to bed.

Started to feel worse so dad said he’ll take me to see Dr. Tan after dinner.

Dr. Tan said it was a viral infection but asked me to come back to him if situation persists till Monday.

He was afraid it would be dengue

Sat 14/6

Felt better. No more aches and fever.

Just felt hot the whole day.

So, kept myself in aircond rooms the whole day

Stopped taking my meds

Sun 15/6

Went to church.

Hmmm, I forgot what I felt that day.

I think tummy wasn’t too good.

But overall I was fine

Mon 16/6

Dad sent me back to Cheras. Started to feel horrible again

Fever returned. Resumed my medication

Slept through the whole day. Skipped all classes

Tues 17/6

Fever subsided.

Felt extremely hot the whole day. Kept sweating uncontrollably.

Decided to go home to Seremban with dad after his meeting

I had to go for Chamber Music Ensemble coaching in school in the afternoon.

Forced myself out of bed and went to school

Was feeling really bad by the time I reached there

On the way back to the condo, felt dizzy and nauseas

Went home to Seremban

Couldn’t see Dr. Tan coz he was on leave

Wed 18/6

Went to Dr. Tan’s at 10.

He asked me to go take a blood test from the Pathlab in town

Kor sent me there. Took the blood test and headed home

On the way home, dad called and said that Dr. Tan says I needed to be admitted….. DENGUE!!!

My blood count was 70 000. A normal person’s is 150 000

At first I didn’t feel anything. Just went home, told mom and started to pack

While packing, it just hit me… and I started to cry! Hahaha…

After lunch, dad sent me to the hospital. They had to put me on drip.

They poked a needle on my left hand. Blood came out!

Then the nurse said, “oh tak boleh lah. Tukar tangan” (oh, cannot. Change hands)

And it was like super duper painful when she took the needle out!!!

Now it’s blue-black! See:

Brought me to the ward. 6B. It was PACKED!!!

So they just dumped me in the middle of the walkway at the end of the ward.

I didn’t even have a proper bed. It was those beds that they use to transfer a person from one place to the other! Hahha…

Dad and kor came to bring me dinner and I asked kor to take a pic of me being sesat. But he didn’t really take it at a good angle where u can see me being sesat lar…

But anyways, u can see me behind me is the exit door. So yea…

They finally gave me my own bed! Hehe… was still crowded.

But at least I had my bed! =)

Wasn’t used to the drip. Felt really uncomfortable.

Tried to read my Bible but couldn’t coz the drip would stop or it would start bleeding

Couldn’t sleep that night

It was too hot, too uncomfortable, too noisy

Josh was there to talk to me. Forced me to try to sleep

Finally slept at abt 2.30 or 3.00

Nurses woke me up at 5.20 to take my blood pressure!!! Far out!!!

Thurs 19/6

Blood count results for the day before dropped to 65 000

At around 8, the MO came to do his rounds. Told me if my blood count went up today then he would let me go home tomorrow morning!

Started to get used to the drip

Was able to get quite a lot of reading done today

Slept again after that

Eunice came in the afternoon to bring me lunch

By evening, I couldn’t stand it any longer. I just had to BATHE!!! Hahha… brought the irritating drip along with me to the bathroom. Somehow, I managed to bathe and wash my hair! Ahhhhh…. Bliss….

After that, I started to feel rather depressed. Dunno why…

When Anne came, I straight away cried! HAHAHA…

I guess I really shocked her! (did I, anne???)

After that a whole bunch of people came to visit me.

Thank you so much everyone. It was really encouraging to see all of u =)

That night I was feeling more depressed

But Mom and Dad continued to encourage me and kept pushing me to trust in God

Continued to read my Bible to draw strength from God

Felt really weak that night – spiritually and emotionally

Really wanted to have faith and trust in God that the next day I would be able to go home…

But I didn’t want to get my hopes up as well…

“Oh ye of little faith…”

But I kept praying anyway

Slept well today…

Fri 19/6

Nurses woke me up at 5.30 again. Went back to sleep

Woke up at abt 8.30 and the doctor in charge of me was next to me going thru my file. Asked me normal stuff…

I asked him whether I can be discharged today

He said depends on the MO and my blood count

He told me if my blood count goes up today then I might be able to go home

I called Mom and asked her to pray coz I knew the MO would arrive soon to do his rounds. Mom told me not to worry. She said that God told her I’ll be out today

So I prayed really hard as well while waiting for the MO to do his rounds

Finally he reached my bed…

Talked to the housemen a bit…

Then finally he asked me…

“Are you ready to go home?”

And I was like “YES!”

Hahaha…

Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!!

So he told me that he was gonna let me go home but I would need to take another blood test in 1 week’s time

At the moment my blood count was 83 000

So it was rising!

I still had to wait for all the paper work to be done before I could go home

Finally, I reached home at abt 4pm

It felt great to be home!!!

Aaron and Josh came to visit me later that evening

And I was able to go to cell =D

Really wanna thank God for His protection and healing. Thank God that my blood count didn’t drop so low and I didn’t bleed at all.

Really grateful for my Mom and Dad and brother who cared and prayed so hard for me. Love u mommy and daddy and kor! =)

Thanks Josh and Sarah for teman-ing me when I was lonely, depressed and couldn’t sleep. Thank you for helping me get through this… =D

Thank you all for sms-ing, praying and visiting me in the hospital… your presence there has been a great encouragement to me…

Rain n Yvonne… thank you for taking care of me when I was in Cheras…

Am also grateful for really nice nurses who have been helpful and kind throughout my stay there. Also wanna thank Dr. See who was in charge of me while I was there. Thanks for making those blood-drawing moments more manageable! Haha… I don’t want anymore!!! =P

So yea, it wasn’t a horrible experience after all. It was kinda bad while going through it. But, looking back now… God has been there with me… every step of the way… and He saw me through… =)

haha... a real quickie... been super duper busy since i started uni... loads of things to worry about!

but as always, God has been awesome to me... =) we've been trying to get someone to take over the master bedroom since yanty left last month. and we posted notices up the whole of april but no one wanted to take it. finally today, 2 guys confirmed that they wanna move in. and they wanna move in TODAY!!!! so praise the Lord!!! thank you all for praying... =D

kor's coming back on the 1st of June i think. hehe... after such a long time. kekeke... don't really miss him oso lar. coz get to talk to him all the time online =)

okieeee... gotta go now! student comin soon. then need to go for cell... till then...

i've been baking!!!

hehe... i've just started baking after 1 whole month of bumming... seriously, i can't remember how i passed time throughout the whole of november!!! =S hehehe, anyway, i started baking this month. tried out some new cheesecake recipes. baked Coffee Cheesecake for kor's birthday...

hehe... was quite happy with the results! love the coffee flavour... mmm.... =) even Uncle Pang said nice! wohooo....

thursday night i baked Classic Lemon Cheesecake to finish up my whipping cream which was gonna expire real soon. when i was baking the cake, i set the temperature 10 degrees too high... and the result:

aigh so sad!!! the sides all turned brown... =( so i had to decorate with fruits, fruits and lots of fruits! hehe... and the result.... ta-daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..................

i found it a little too sour (coz of the lemon!!! hehe...) but most of the aunties liked it coz it wasn't sweet... aunty jenny said it was "refreshing"! hehhee... so i'm happy it turned out well... =)

and josh liked both!!!! hehehehhe... =D

right now, i'm tryin out this new cookie recipe called Ultimate Double Chocolate Cookies... now waiting for the mixture to set before i can bake it. hmmm, quite scared... half of the reviews gave it thumbs up, and the other half rated it bad... i hope mine will turn out reli reli good... hehe... and i wonder wat time i'll finish baking too! haha... it's already 12.30 am =P

all these baking really makes me wish i won't need to go bak to uni... aigh, how i miss home and being able to bake whenever i like... can't wait to come bak to seremban for good and teach and sell cakes n cookies part time! hahaha...

the meaning of life...

For the past few weeks, I’ve come across quite a few friends’ blogs and comments. And they all wrote about the same thing: LIFE! Ranging from things like the meaning of life to the monotony of life to how painful growing up is…

Because of that, I’m reminded of my purpose in life: JESUS! Like Pastor Rick warren said… It’s not about me! I was created for HIS pleasure. And knowing that, gives life a whole new meaning! It’s so easy to get caught up in the momentum of life. Working our butts off, studying, practicing like mad…for what? Why of coz, for Jesus! =)

Colossians 3:23 says “whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Yes, my dear, growing up is hard and painful ~~at times~~ most of the time, but have no fear! Coz we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. If our God is for us, who can be against us?!

Knowing that living my life is an act of worship unto God doesn’t make life so boring after all!!! Hehe... still need some spice and colour in your life…? Only one thing you need:

JESUS!!!

Whoaaaa… I guess it’s high time I updated my blog, huh? Even Aunty Chris asked me why I haven’t blogged in a long time! I wanted to blog last week but I could’t log on to blogspot!!! Dunno what’s wrong… finally got in today! well, apart from that I’ve also been busy. It’s the end of the semester (AGAIN, I know!!!) and exams are on! It’s alright, after this I have 2 months of holidays!!! Weeeeeee… ah, I can’t wait! Been working non-stop the whole year… finally it’s time to relax! =)

Come to think about it, I had a nice break 2 weekends ago. It was Hari Raya so we had Monday off. And I skipped Friday’s class too. So I had 4 days of holiday! Hehe… Han-ni and Aunty Kim came down on Friday night and stayed on till Sunday. On Saturday we all ate like PIGS!!! Hehe… started off the morning in Ah Seng’s coffee shop. We had loads to eat there: Hakka Meen, Kon Lou Meen Lam Kali Cap (haha… I’m simply spelling that. It’s dried noodles with black sauce, soy sauce and curry), Loh Mai Kai (glutinous rice with chicken and last but not least…….TOASTS with butter and kaya! Yummy… hehe… after helping out Anne in church, I headed to Aunty Lily’s house for Hari Raya lunch! Mmmmmmm… such good food! We had Nasi Bryani, Nasi Kunyit (which I absolutely love), vegetables, chicken curry, Pulut with Kuah Kacang!!! Wahhhhh, so yummy! After lunch, we went back home and there was delicious Chow Kuey Teow at home coz tapau-ed for Josh’s lunch and I wanted to let Han-ni try so bought another packet for her. So, we pigged out again! Haha… next up: dinner. We had Hokkien Mee that Aunty Kim bought from KL the night before. And we had that with mommy’s Petai Sambal! After dinner we headed to church for Aspirers. Had a wonderful session there where the youths went thru 9 different stations down the Road of Calvary. After Aspirers, we went to Aunty Cherie’s house coz they were celebrating Sze-En’s birthday. I don’t need to tell you, do I…? Hehe… yes, yes!!! We ate again. This time we had Aunty Cherie’s famous Lou Shi Fun…heavenly! There were also buns with cheese, ham, tuna, tomatoes and cucumber. We also had Mee Siam and Fried Noodles and there was the birthday cake. Haha… so that wraps up our adventure for the day! After that day, I don’t dare weigh myself on the weighing scale. Haha, give me a few more days before I am able to pluck up the courage to do so! =D

Just finished my aural exams today. It was hard!!! =( I’m praying hard that I’ll pass… don’t mind if I just get 50, as long as I pass! Hehe… don’t have any papers tomorrow. On Thursday, I have Music Theory in the morning and in the afternoon I have Chamber Music Ensemble assessment! Scary. Playing Scherzo with Lisa and it’s super duper fast! Hehe… can’t wait for exams to finish. So many things I wanna do. I think the main thing I’m looking forward to is having time to cook and bake… wanna try so many new recipes! Hehehe…

yesterday, when i was at work at around 1 something, pei wyn got a call from her friend saying that there 2 Nigerians were found dead at our condo. and at the same block!!! we tried to find out more about it, but all we knew were that they were murdered... hehe, was kinda scared...

at around 4 something, yvonne and i decided to skip choir and go back to the condo. we stopped by the library to get some books and met jane there. haha, jane told us that the 2 guys were involved in a fight and got stabbed! aiyo..... terrible! anyway, we walked back to the condo and found out that the guys were killed on the 25th floor....just a floor above me!!! yikessss.....

at night, watched the news... chinese news. according to them, the guys were murdered. direct translation was "let people kill" aigh... was really scared or rather paranoid. haha, when walkin back into my apartment in the evening also keep looking back to see if there was anyone behind me! hehehe... later that night, read The Star online and found out what really happened.......

Two Nigerians found dead

KUALA LUMPUR: Two Nigerian students were found dead in their apartment, believed to be from a drug overdose, in Taman Connaught, Cheras.

Their housemate discovered their bodies in a room at their Angkasa Condominium at 10am yesterday.

Olugboja Emmanuel Olawale, 22, was found lying on the bed while Abbas Alhaji, 24, was sprawled under it.

The housemate returned home just after midnight yesterday, went straight to bed and was shocked to find Olugboja and Abbas dead when he went to wake them up yesterday morning.

Victims’ remains: Police officers carrying a body bag containing one of the dead Nigerians to a waiting truck at Angkasa Condominium in Cheras.

Initial investigations showed that the victims did not have any injury mark and neither were they robbed.

It is learnt that there was foam coming out of their mouths when they were found.

Police sources said police were investigating if the students were involved in drugs. The victims are believed to have consumed a large number of pills believed to be psychotropic drugs.

Both the deceased were business information system students at a College here. They came to Malaysia three years ago.

Cheras CID chief Deputy Supt V. Samugam said police were waiting for the post-mortem results from Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Nigerian Embassy consulate officer Ibrahim Hamidun urged the media not to speculate as to what had led to the students’ death.

“It has already been bad for us. We, Africans, have been wrongly accused for the recent Kepong murder and two of our people were arrested without any solid proof,” he said.

phewwwww.... was i relieved that it wasn't homicide! kekekkee.... and thank God mommy and daddy aren't here. if mom's here, she'll sure freak out... =D

love is a weird thing....

a few things happened last weekend which made me realize that love is a weird thing indeed... it is always unexpected... hits u from the opposite direction...

let's start with the good experience 1st... hehehe... to protect the respective individual's privacy and identity, i'll be switching back and forth between the "he"s and the "she"s... hahhaa... something i learned from my dad! kekeke...

last weekend, 2 friends from National Service called me. haven't heard from them in such a long time! it was so good to hear from them. just talking to them made me feel that i'm so blessed to have friends who love and care for me... even though we've only spent time together for 3 months during NS =D i miss all my friends in NS. i do miss the life there at times, but if u were to ask me to go back there.... hmmmm.... i'm not so sure... haha!!!

with the good story taken care of, we'll move on to the not so good one... talkin about how weird love is... it really blows my mind. to have a friend who says she loves and cares for u, but in a split second, he can just forget everything and act so coldly towards u... makes no sense at all! a friendship of more than 10 years can just vanish in a twinkling of an eye. after all these years of standing up for her, defending him when everyone talks bad about her, trusting in him when everyone tells me not to... everything i believed in her as a person was just a lie. the person that i believed him to be was just a phony. i feel like i don't even know her anymore. was anything ever true...?

obviously, when it happned, i did feel hatred towards him. but after it subsided, i felt sad...disappointed. after all she did, he didn't even say she was sorry. there was no sense of guilt nor regret nor sorrow for what she did. instead, the only response that i received was one which was cold, blunt, harsh and unreasonable. i guess that's what disappoints me the most.... =(

it's been a long time since i last blogged... been... err... busy...! hehe... actually, mid august i had holidays. so i was back in seremban. and i don't bother blogging in seremban. the 1st week of holidays was Church Camp! was great! enjoyed it emensely. it was held in taiping. after church camp, we headed to penang for FOOD!!!! ahhh... heavenly. i really pigged out there! =D ah, the satisfaction...

2nd week of holidays... what did i do? i can't remember. the only thing i remember from that week was Anne, Josh and i going for camp reccee at Dusun Eko Resort in Bentong, Pahang. from there we moved up to Genting View Resort and then met Winne for dinner in Awana.

oh, now i remember!!! haha... 2nd week of holidays. one of the nights Josh cooked dinner for me! as my birthday pressie! hehehe... so nice! supposed to be a 3 course meal but we were too full by the end of the main dish! hehe... the menu was:

Starters - Baked Seafood Mixture topped with yummy Mozzarella Cheese
Main dish - Fish and Chips
Thong Yuin

hehe... for the starters, i don't know what it's called, so i'm just simply naming it! =P kekeke.. all my fav! starters had mozzarella which is my fav cheese. main dish - chips. i always gian wanna eat chips ftom mcd's and thong yuin too... hahaha...

well, school has started and this is our short sem. that means only 2 months for cover everthing and finish all exams! THAT'S CRAZYYYYY!!! stressful lerrrr... 2 piano lessons per week plus Chamber Music Ensemble (CME) under Dr. P'ng (head of classical dept.)!!!! how freaky can this sem get??? well, at least i should be thankful that i'm not having Jury this sem, if not i don't think i would still be breathing right now! *phewwww*

Haha, I think I’m the last among Rain, Stella and Yvonne to update my blog. Well, been rather busy. Last Friday finally finished my history term paper. *phewwwww* I’m glad it’s over. Even though it was kinda stressful, but personally, I enjoyed doing it. Had to do a CD cover and an essay as the CD sleeve notes. It was a 1^st and I liked it… =)

Exams have already started. CME (Chamber Music Ensemble) assessment was on Tuesday. Hmmm... didn’t turn out well. Even Miss Morag was surprised. She expected us to do quite well… ahhhh, forget it! Better concentrate on the next exams…

Tomorrow there’ll be Dr. Lim’s piano group class in the afternoon. I have to play Chopin and Ginastera. Then Friday…… oh, Friday will be a super tiring and busy day!!! Will be having 2 hour lecture of music history from 8am followed by another piano group class at 12, but this time combined with Miss Jaz and Miss Chong’s studio. At 1.15, I have my Aural exam where I have to sight sing 2 melodies and 2 rhythmic passages. Then at 4, I’ll be having Scales and Sight Reading Jury!!!!!!! Arghhhhhhh…. Help!!!

Don’t even wanna think about next week yet… =(

Sad sad……. Can’t wait for exams to be over then can go for church camp! Sad sad…… can’t even celebrate our anniversary together properly… can’t stop thinking about exams only…

Ok lar, have to go study! Tahan…… 2 weeks to go before we’ll be free!!!

last wednesday, a group of us (daddy, mommy, aunty pang, aunty yoke chan, aunty jenny, aunty linda, aunty jee lan, anne and i) went for The King and I: The Musical.
we had dinner at cheras then headed to Istana Budaya to meet aunty jee lan, who was already there...

while waiting for some of them who went to the toilet before the show started, we saw Dr. Siti Hasmah, Mahathir's wife, walking into the hall. but we weren't sure whether it was her coz her back was facing us.

i thoroughly enjoyed the show! so much better than My Fair Lady! at certain parts, the casts' diction wasn't very clear. nevertheless, i enjoyed myself immensely!

well, i'm really proud of the effort Malaysia's putting in in bringing these musicals in. i look forward to the coming years and the coming musicals! kudos! =D

i was terribly disappointed! haha... it was horrible. i didn't find the jokes funny at all. and there was this crazy guy next to josh who kept laughin his head off at every single lame joke!!! i seriously felt like punching him in the face! wasted my money watching this!

hehe... nvm lar, he wanna watch so i teman him lor... **trying to console myself** =P

at night after dinner, we came back to my place and i saw this dvd next to the tv. i watched the trailer before and i was really looking forward to watching this! so i asked daddy whether it's nice or not. he said ok only lar, but there's a twist at the end...

so we decided to watch it...

and i was greatly disappointed!!!

things just turned out bad today... shall not talk about the 1st thing which ruined practically my whole day... anyway, because of that, felt horrible from afternoon onwards. when ate dinner, didn't feel like i've eaten... no mood to do anything....

still, i had to go for Dr. Lim n Dr. P'ng's recital... so went lor... then didn't carry bag. so just held my purse, handphone n keys. reached school, took a new recital attendance sheet coz i forgot to bring mine... filled it up at the music office then went upstairs to the recital hall. after recital, rain, raechen, stella and i went to mcd's for supper. when i reached my front door, i realised i lost my keys. aigh... i think i left it somewhere around the music office while filling up my recital attendance sheet... then, thinkin abt the sheet, i realised that i forgot to collect it back from my lecturer after the recital. arghhh... just so frustrating... this was supposed to be a wonderful day, and it turned out like this... *SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*

Yesterday Josh and I went to watch Transformers. I liked the show but then…kinda sanfu lar when we were watching. Surprisingly the cinema was packed. Hasn’t Transformers been out for 2 weeks now...? Don’t know why there were so many people there. Yea, because of that we didn’t get good seats!

We sat at Row F, 6^th row from the front!!! And if that wasn’t bad enough, we were sitting right at the side!!! I had to turn my body so that I could watch the screen. If I just looked straight ahead I would only be able to see 1/8 of the whole screen! Haha…cacated… but Josh didn’t mind… he was really into the show. Aigh, I guess it’s really a guy thing right? I never watched the cartoon version of Transformers when I was a kid. Hmmm, really think it’s a guy thing =P but I did enjoy the show apart from the fact that I did fall asleep once. Haha, I was tired and having to turn my body to face the screen properly is a tiring task! Haha… anyway, I did enjoy it…

hmmm, where shall i start... the title of this post is musical experiences. apart from the usual dose of music i get everyday from uni and home, i had 2 extra last week. 1 not too good and 1 better...

let's start with Inti Super Idol. haha, those from Inti, please don't stone me after reading this ok? =P okiessss, last wednesday i went to Inti for their Super Idol finals. josh was part of the top 10. so during the finals on that they, they would sing a duet and a solo song each. the judges were made of some composers or something lar. one of then even been to LA to pursue his studies. they belong to some music school here in cheras. but i don't know what's the name of that school of music. anyway, they really let me down. some of their comments really didn't make sense! i really don't get them... they're already in the music business and some of their comments really have no standard! hahaa... they love those super easy sentimental chinese songs!! hahaha... no standard at all! aighhh.. pengsan... dunno ler whether my expectation too high or they memang cacat. =S i tried seaching for the name of their school of music, but didn't succeed! aighhh.... if i really find hor, i think i'll write in and complain! hahahaha.... evil me....

oklar, don't wanna talk about that day, if not i'll just get even more irritated! hahaha... next up... on saturday night, after aspirers, jon asked josh and i to go to the pub in kemayan club. he said that they didn't have a singer so asked me to go. but i didn't wanna sing. haha, if u do not know, my jazz is kinda cacat!!! hahaha... but i just wanted to check out jon's band so i told josh i wanted to go. when we were there, as usual lar got people smoking. usually i can't stand people smoking in front of me, but surprisingly it was bearable! i guess it was coz the cigarette smell was kinda spread out. not like those when u sit at the mamak stall, a whole cloud of smoke will just be blown into your face. ughhhh, hate that!!! hehehe, ok ok... back to my story. so yea, we were at the pub. jon's band is not bad...! they all seemed so used to it. they didn't have a singer so a couple of the customers sang. and there was this old, thin, malay uncle who was drunk. and every once in a while he would scream... and sometimes he would fill in when someone else was singing! haha... geng wor! =D he was really cute...so skinny but his voice so loud! anyway we sat for about an hour then left. tapau-ed dinner from the mamak stall and went to my place to eat. well, one thing i can say - the uncles singing at the pub on saturday nite were even better singers than some of those at josh's super idol.... haha, i salute those uncles!!! =)

UCSI's School of Music Alumni Concert

On the 7^th and 8^th of July, UCSI’s School of Music hosted their Annual Concert and this year we had the Alumni Concert. Our choir opened the concert with the first 2 pieces of Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. After that was the Grieg’s Piano Concerto by my lecturer, Dr. Lim Pei Sien together with UCSI’s orchestra. Next up was Ho Chee Kin. He’s the overall champion for the New Millennium Harmonica Festival. Oh man, the girls were all crazy about him… hahaha… during rehearsals, you could see them taking out their handphones and recording his performance. And they would eye him and nudge each other whenever he passes by! *faint* I don’t think he’s cute also. Too cina-pek lar! Hehe…

After the intermission, the UCSI Chamber Choir performed followed by Cheong Yew Choong performance of Debussy’s Fireworks and another of Liszt’s pieces. He’s really good! His fingers move across the keyboard effortlessly, it amazes us to see such skill! Aigh… if only I could be 30% of what he is! Haha… Yew Choong is currently pursuing his doctorate in piano performance in West Virginia Uni. He has hearing disabilities due to some viral infection when he was young, I think…. So now, one of his ears is totally deaf and the other 60% deaf… Next up was violin, piano, keyboard and orchestral performance of the Green Tea musical which was composed by the former students of UCSI. The conductor of the orchestra was Isaac Chia.

Our choir closed the concert by performing Music and El Matador. Hehe… the performance of this song on Sunday was superb! Haha.. we were moving around, came down from the choir platforms…and most importantly, we were having an awesome time!!! Hehe, the only thing that I miss about the concert, now that it is over, is El Matador! Hehehe… love love love love love that song!! Hehee, and I could see Adil perform… Haha, so hot!!! =D

On Sunday, mommy, daddy and josh were there… mommy and daddy enjoyed the concert. Josh only liked El Matador! I think the classical stuff put him to sleep! Hahahaa…

but I really enjoyed myself throughout that week. Was able to spend time with my jimuiz…

it's 2 weeks plus and i'm still coughing! well, it is getting better. but i keep getting these "cough attacks" once in a while. especially during Dr. Jeff's lectures! hahaha... hmmm, dunno when ler i'll get better =( very sanfu leh when i get those cough attacks. hafta go out of the lecture hall to cough cough cough non-stop before going back in... aighhh... i've already finished most of the meds Dr. Tan gave me. only thing that's left is the cough mixture. aiyo, how ler... how to fully recover...

this weekend is my 1st weekend away from Seremban. i miss Seremban!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha... have to stay back coz our School of Music will be having our annual concert on Saturday n Sunday nite. involved in the choir. we're singing Carmina Burana. the song we hear in a lot of big movie soundtracks. hehe, didn't noe it was called carmina burana oso. if u don't know which song i'm talking about, can click at the left side of this page. hehe, it's there. another song that we're doing is El Matador. it's a Latin song. hahaha awesome song! hehe, u can also listen to it... it's already nice in this recording... so imagine it LIVE!!!! hahahaa awesomeeeeee..... =D

been having rehearsals for the past 2 days from 7 till 11 at night. tonight oso the same. then tmr nite n sunday nite will be the presentation ady. sleepyyyyyy..... wanna sleep... summore this whole week i didn't work. i've only completed 35 hours out of my 65 hours!!! and it's already week 10....? oh man, that's like only 4 weeks left to complete another 30 hrs! siaoooooo.... =( haha, but i don't mind rehearsals coz i've found my new source of entertainment!!!! hahaha... our new contemp lecturer: Mr. Adil. hahaha... aigh, disadvantage is that he's quite short and he's Malay. sighhhhhh.... nvm lar, just see, no touch! kakaka... at least it gets me thru boring and tiresome rehearsals =P

aigh, i've been coughing n coughing for the past 3 days. and summore today had theory quiz and aural midterms. thank God that the exam went quite well. it was much better than i expected. thanks kor n josh for praying for me... i really couldn't have done it without your prayers.

after aural exam, i came back. wanted to take a nap. couldn't fall asleep coz i kept coughing. aigh, jus pray that i can sleep tonight. really need sleep. tomorrow i'll be having history quiz. been studyin but can't remember what i read. can't concentrate! ahahhaa history puts me to sleep ; ) hahahhaa...

i was feeling kinda down today. had loads to study. midterms these few weeks. then some problem wid my housemate. then the silly owner of the condo doesn wanna reduce the rent. then just feel like i wanna get away from here, and i realized that i haven't been on a holiday since i started uni... 1 and a half years. can't remember the last time i went to singapore or genting... aigh i miss all that... =( can't wait for end of the year, i really wanna go somewhere. and i'm gonna miss church camp too this year. my 1st year ever ='( so yea, reli sad lor...

this evening, met up with family at 1U to watch pirates. when we reached there, i bought a top from glen davis. then wanted to shop summore but had to meet daddy n kor at ms. reed so rushed there. had tea there, ate heavenly chocolate brownie, banofee (banana n toffee pie) and carrot cake. the carrot cake ok ok only ler. mommy's nicer!! =) hehehhe, but as always, the chocolate brownie was heavenly... take a look...

hehehe, the one at the back is the brownies, obviously. the one in front is the banoffee. it's quite nice. had it the last time when callie, kor, josh n i went. then now had it again. i like it better this time =)

after that we went to watch pirates. oh yea, we were wid this pastor... ermmm, pastor dennis or smtg like that. hehehe, 1st time meeting him. didn't ask daddy how come he suddenly joined us oso! anyway, back to my story... mannnnn, pirates was quite boringggggg.... show started at 6.15 then after a while i fell asleep and woke up at about 7.30!!! hahahaha.... i was kinda tired too lar. so fell asleep. but after that was quite oklar... can tahan. but stil prefer shrek... hehehe... i loved shrek. i mean, the storyline was jus ok ok lar. but it was funny. i looooooveeeee the dronkeys! the baby dragon-donkeys! they're so adorable. n pinnochio was so funny! =)

ekekeke... so after movie, we went for dinner, then i came back here, bathed... n now blogging... can't wait for tmr to be over. saturday is esther n steven's wedding. hehee, lookin forward to it... i'm tired.. hmmmm, think i'm gonna watch 1 episode of Grey's Anatomy before i sleep... muahahahhaa.... cheerios!

Games Carnival

last sunday, the Young Adults - 29:11 - hosted a games carnival. we all went to chan wa primary school for the games. there were indoor and outdoor games. it was kinda funny, coz it was the younger adults against the older adults. i didn't stay for the results coz had to go home to get ready to come bak to kl. but i think the older adults really kicked some butts! hahaha...

the 1st game i watched was basketball. whoaaaa, the older adults were really good, especially nigel's mom!!! tat aunty really knows how to shoot. hahaha she kept scoring for her team. and becoz she was the ony woman in the team, it was the rule that when a woman scores, she automatically gets 2 marks! hahaha.. so yea, the older adults won. they also won basketball and badminton! for boggle, there were 3 teams playin simultaneously and in my team, the older adults won again! the scores were like 92(older) - 44(younger). wohooooo.... the older adults really rock!

the kids were there too. they had their own activities held by seet kwan n sharon. i'm sure they had fun too. oh, at the end, the kids played tug-o-war. and the 1st round i think the boys won. then the adults thought that it wasn fair coz the girls were weaker. so they decided to get joycelyn and jessamine to help the girls, u noe, since they were small sized and fit in perfectly! hahha, but sorry...wrong choice!! jessamine is super super strong! hahaha, she's even stronger than me!!! so with joycelyn n jessamine, the girls won!! wohoo.... see, my picture, the girls rejoicing... hehehe...

i had fun... we should do this more often... =)

haha, i didn't get to blog yesterday due to the huge amount of homework that i had to finish by last night! but yea, i was like sarah said "hero...!" hahhaa... ok ok, lemme start from the beginning.

yesterday, class started at 1.30 and it was voice lesson. usually i eat bread or something before i leave for tat class but yesterday, i forgot to bring bread from home. so i thought i wud grab something before class. then see see, tak sempat wanna eat. so nvm lor. went for class. then did warm ups. and the last exercise was the dog panting kinda warm ups. and if u've ever done dog panting exercises before, u'll know they make u DIZZY!!!! hahaha, but i did it anyway... then i was doing doing, haven't finished the whole exercise, started to feel dizzy... didn't reli think abt it but continued to do... suddenly i began to see stars.... hahaha, cudn't tahan, had to sit down... lecturer had to open door so tat i can breathe (we were stuck in a small practice room). it was bad!!! i felt dizzy, nauseas, felt the blood drainin out from my face and even started sweating...

i whispered a quick prayer and asked God to take away all discomfort... and in a few minutes, i felt much much better! PTL!!! =) anyway, i had a few classes back to back. but i quickly grabbed a curry puff at 2... took only a bite then had to rush off to the next class and was able to finish tat miserable curry puff at 4...

anyway, thank God for speedy recovery... =D

My Fair Lady

Last Wednesday, mommy, daddy, Aunty Pang, Uncle Rajen, Ah Cheng, Seet Kwan, Aunty Jee Lan and i went to the KL Convention Center to watch My Fair Lady the Musical. well, i was looking forward to it... but came bak rather disappointed. well, not exactly disappointed, more of jus satisfied. hmmm... or less than satisfied...? hehehe, well 1st of all, the sound system was quite bad. it was like the sound was all comin from the front only. there was like no surround sound system! aigh, like potong steam only!! -.-

the next thing i wasn't so happy about was the main male character, prof. higgins! the guy u played prof higgins, i think, didn't bring the character across well... he nothing like Rex Harrison! hehe... this guy was kinda short (from where i was sitting) and he had a big belly! ahahhaa... Rex Harrison was tall and fit, and he definitely didn't have a tummy! =P and this actor wasn't able to portray the character of Prof Higgins properly. prof higgins was very english, egoistic, sarcastic...a male chauvinist, i cud say! hahaha, but i love the way Rex Harrison carried off that character. he was able to bring out all those characteristics, but at the same time, not make u hate the character of prof higgins! ah.... i'm gonna go bak n watch the original dvd... hehe i wanna see Rex Harrison! kakakaka....

but it was a good experience tho... thx mom n dad for bringin me! =)

it was rain's (my house and coursemate) birthday on monday. and i didn't know. it started out wid yvonne askin me whether it's rain's birthday and by the time she asked, i had already went outside to talk to rain. and i did not wish her!!! yikesss! paiseh! kekeke... anyway, i finally plucked up the courage to go n wish her! kakaka... silly me!

so that night, rain, siaw jiun, joelin and i went out for dinner. hahaha, we were like makin so much noise n taking pics non-stop. they even forced me to do the lala pose! ughhhhh.... i wont post it up here, much too embarrassing! =P but we had a good time... hah, rain! we're the same age now... for another 3 months, tat is... kekeke....

the journey at the moment is kinda rough... hard to cope with changes in life. feels like it's a constant battle within me - to do what i know i should do but in the end doin the opposite! sighhh... i'm at a dead end. and it is at times like this God chooses to remain silent, but i know He's here with me. eventhough it seems like it's impossible to accomplish, i know with God, we will be able to pull thru this and come out victorious! God assures me thru His Word in 2 Corinthians 12:9 The Message version says:

"My grace is enough; it's all you need.
My strength comes into its own in your weakness"
Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen.
I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift.
It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness.
Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks.
I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.

ah! my 1st post here in blogspot! hehe... actually i never wanted to start a new blog as i already have one at multiply and msnspace. but then, those 2 are rather limited, can't do much there, so yea...lazy to upload stuff n blog there lar... so here i am, at blogspot!

oh man, coming up with my name here was such a hassle!!! haha... i wanted my name in but then Ann and Su-Ann were already taken so i was stuck. so out of desperation and pure lameness, i thought of ann-su-ann! hahahhaa... it's lame, i know! =P even kinsang said so! so finally i resolved to the normal adding-the-z-at-the-end kinda thing and so in the end, we have: http://su-annz.blogspot.com sounds quite nice eh...? anyway, that's done, so i'm glad.

so from now on, hopefully, i'll frequently update my blog here... will be posting stuff like my thoughts and also things that happen, events n all. like the title of my blog says: Making my dash count... i really hope that my life will always be in the center of God's will and that those years represented by that dash will really be able to reflect Jesus Christ!

well, this will also be like cooking blog...just a small part lar! i'll try to attach pics of all the stuff i cook as soon as i figure out how to take good pictures of them! =P i did try when i made the Ultimate Chocolate Sandwich Cookies. they were heavenly! a little too sweet, but heavenly! i got the recipe from some FoodBlog, can't remember which one. but yea, i tried taking a picture of them but it turned out quite bad! haha, dunno lar, i think my bro will tell me that it has something to do with the lightings lar or some functions lar...i have absolutely no idea! but yea, take a look at these pics:

haha, i think the pictures make my cookies look really horrible. well, i'll start experimenting on my camera next so the pics of the food will be able look more appetizing! =) i made lasagna the last thurs. i got the recipe from siew lian. hehe, it turned out quite hard! i was so disappointed. but josh was really kind. hahaha! he said he liked it. dunno true anot. but he did eat quite a lot! well, the next day i realised what went wrong!! i forgot to put in the BEEF STOCK!! aiyo, silly me! =D so on saturday i decided to rebake it. i cut into a small piece, placed it in a baking dish, added beef stock and rebaked it! and it turned out so nice! hehehe... even kor said it was nice! weeee... can't wait to try it again. and when i do, i'll be sure to upload the pic here!

hmmm, i'm trying to think whether i missed anything out. i haven't blogged in a long time. oh well, if there's any, i can't think of them right now. it's 2am and i have piano class at 9! arghhh... so irri! u see, i have piano class from 9-10 then no class till 2pm! aigh, nevermind ler. i'll jus come back and sleep after 10. hehe! well... that's all from me for now... this brings my 1st post at blogspot to an end! *clap clap clap* =D
